Speech Language Therapy for children and adults
" If you could only sense how important you are in the lives of those you meet, how important you are to the people you may never even dream of. There is something of yourself that you leave at every meeting with another person"
Fred Rogers

About Me

After graduating with my M.A. in Speech Language Pathology in 1991 from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, I obtained my Certificate of Clinical Competence and became licensed in the state of Ohio where I began my work in skilled nursing and hospital settings with a focus on stroke rehabilitation and served patients with degenerative diseases including alzheimer's disease and multiple sclerosis among others. This allowed me to develop the virtue of compassion as I became a team member in the care of moderate to critically ill patients.

In 1995, I expanded my caseload to include individuals with developmental disabilities, working within group home settings as well as in home health settings, utilizing functional therapy approaches, adaptive equipment and assistive technology. This special population taught me to appreciate the uniqueness in each person.

In order to be able to spend more time with my own children, I changed gears and began to work in the school setting in 2001. Realizing quickly that the K-12 population was an area of expertise for me, I committed myself to working with students for the last 20 years and have found joy in helping children reach their greatest potential in speech and language. My students and I have taught each other the virtues of patience and fortitude.

Over the last ten years, I have received six "Outstanding Service Awards" presented to me by my employer Partners for Success and Innovation. I was recognized for initiating a phonological awareness program to serve Kindergarten students struggling with pre reading skills and for developing a novel and effective fluency shaping program for students who stutter.

I am grateful for a career that allows me to utilize my skills to serve others and I look forward to working with you!
